Server Console Firefox plugin VMWare Server 2.0.1 ( 2009/03/31 | Build: 156745 ) not working

Since VMWare Server 2 everything is administrated from a webinterface. This works nice and looks nice. Unfortunately I could not open the Console to the Guest OS. Starting and stopping the Guest OS no problem, but no graphical console. When opening the console in the webinterface, a plugin must be installed in firefox. This is downloaded from your VMWare Server installation’s webserver. It installs cleanly, but after restarting the web interface, and trying to open the console of a Guest OS, nothing happens. Total silence. Annoying, at least. After investigating, it seemed in my case, that some libraries could not be found. Creating some symlinks and starting the server console from the command line would run just fine:
$HOME.mozilla/firefox/<random>.vmware/extensions/VMwareVMRC@vmware.com/plugins/vmware-vmrc
But no way it would start from the VMWare server webinterface. The solution in my case was simple though: Don’t use a Firefox profile with a space in the name. My profile was called ‘Default User’ and that didn’t work. After creating a new profile ( called vmware ), without spaces, it worked!
